Terms and Conditions

By entering the “Nelson City Taxis 53rd Birthday” competition, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

1.         STANDARD TERMS

1.1       Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry.

2.         WHO CAN ENTER?

2.1       Subject to clause 2.2, entry is open to any person who uses a Nelson City Taxi during the time period of 5 August – 31 August 2015.

2.2       Employees, members, drivers and their immediate families of Nelson City Taxis Society Limited are not eligible to enter.

2.3       There will be a separate draw for employees, members, and drivers of Nelson City Taxis Society Limited who are not eligible to enter the main draw.

3.0         HOW TO ENTER

3.1       The competition commences on 5 of August 2015 at 00:01 and concludes on 31 August 2015 at 23:59.

3.2       In order to enter, customers must use a Nelson City Taxi cab during the competition period. The customer will be provided a NCT entry form by a Nelson City Taxi driver on the completion of their journey. The customer must get the driver of the cab to state their cab number in the space provided on the entry form at the end of each trip. The customer must fill in their contact details and either give the completed competition card to the driver or drop in to the Nelson City Taxi administration office at 27 Selwyn Place, Nelson.

3.3       One completed entry form comprises one entry in draw. You may enter as many times as you like however each entry must be a completed form.

3.4       All entries must be received by 9am, 1st September 2015

3.5       Entrants must be the person paying for the cab fare.

3.6       Entries will also be accepted by the customer giving their driver a business card at the end of the trip.

3.7       A like on our facebook page www.facebook.com/nelsoncitytaxissocietyltd also constitutes a single entry.

4.         PRIZES

4.1       There will be one winner per prize. There are 51 prizes in total.  The winner will receive one prize, as set out below.          

            1 x Samsung Galaxy Tablet
            or one of 50 x $20.00 taxi voucher

4.3       The winners are responsible for the collection of the prize from Nelson City Taxi premises at 27 Selwyn Place, Nelson 7010.

4.4       If a winner of any prize is under the age of 18 as at the date of the draw, an adult must accompany the minor in the participation of the prize.

4.6       Prizes cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash. 

4.7       Prize must be used within 1 year of winning,

4.8       Prize may be extended at the winners expense, but never redeemed for cash.

 5.         HOW TO WIN

5.1       There will be 51 winners chosen from total pool of entries received.  Each entrant who has entered over the duration of the competition and registered all details required (“Qualifying Entrant”) will be eligible.           

5.2       The winners will be drawn on 4 of September 2015 by the chairman of Nelson City Taxi Society, under the supervision of another Society Board member.

5.3       Winners will be notified by a phone call by 10th of September 2015. The winner’s name and suburb will be published on the Nelson City Taxi Website www.nelsontaxis.co.nz and facebook page on 5th September 2015 and remain viewable until September 20th, 2015.

5.4       The promoter’s decision is final and the promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the result.

5.5       The promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the Promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize.  It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the promoter in its absolute discretion.

6.         NO LIABILITY

In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions.

6.2       Nelson City Taxi Society Limited and affiliates and associated agencies and companies will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.

6.3       Nelson City Taxi Society Limited and affiliates will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss or claim that may occur:

a)  during the draw;

b)   whilst undertaking any activity in or connected with their entry into the draw;

c)   in the participation in any prize;

d)   as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;

e)   due to the broadcast of any program relating to the competition or the publication of any material, including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person;

f)    in relation to failure of an entry to be received by the promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion;

g)   arising from or related to any problem or technical malfunction of any computer equipment, software, internet connection, any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer software related to or resulting from participation in this promotion;

6.4       Nelson City Taxi Society Limited assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.

6.5       If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition
